The collection contains correspondence, verse, examinations and other papers removed from his office. Of interest is a letter from D. Ridgely Howard to W. Gordon McCabe, 1920 April 14, describing the Battle of Weldon Railroad. The papers also contain copies of letters from various university librarians with suggestions regarding construction of Alderman Library.
